Dr hab. inż. Małgorzata Brzezińska-Rodak, prof. PWr

Prof. Małgorzata Brzezińska-Rodak graduated from Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Chemistry, with Master’s degree in Molecular Biotechnology and Biocatalysis in 1998. Ph.D. in Biology (domain: Biotechnology)she obtained in 2007 at the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, The Faculty of Food Science (currently The Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Science).Doctoral thesis concerned the use of microorganisms for the synthesis of optically pure phosphonates via reduction reactions. She has been employed since 1998 at the Faculty of Chemistry of Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The continuation of her research on the possibility of using fungi for the synthesis of optically pure phosphonate derivatives enabled to obtain habilitation degree in 2019 in biological sciences at Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. Her professional interests still concern the use of the enzymatic potential of fungi to obtain compounds with biological activity, including new phosphonate derivatives containing heteroatom in the structure, or compounds with antioxidant activity.
